Sheriff: 1 Dead After Assault At Mille Lacs County Resort

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One person died Friday night after an assault at a Mille Lacs County resort, authorities say.

The Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office says it's conducting an active death investigation in connection with an assault that happened at Nitti's Hunters Point Resort. The resort is located in Isle, which is south and east of Brainerd.

Authorities say one person was critically hurt and transported to North Memorial Medical Center, where they later died.

Authorities haven't released any information about suspects, and the incident is under investigation.
