Timberwolves' Towns Unanimous Pick For NBA All-Rookie First Team

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The NBA announced its top rookie teams on Thursday, and Minnesota Timberwolves forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns was a unanimous All-Rookie First Team selection.

Towns earned all 130 votes necessary to be placed on the first team, along with Kristaps Porzingas of the New York Knicks. The other first team selections were Devin Booker, Nikola Jokic and Jahlil Okafor.

Earlier this week, Towns was named the unanimous winner for the NBA's Rookie of the Year award. He led all qualified rookies in scoring (18.3 points per game) and rebounding (10.5 per game). He also led rookies in field goal percentage (54.2), double-doubles (52) and minutes per game (32).

He won the Western Conference Rookie of the Month award six straight times. He also led the Timberwolves in scoring in 27 of their 82 games and was their top rebounder in 63 of 82 games.
