Memorial Day Forecast Calls For Sun, Highs In The 80s

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – While the first few days of the holiday weekend brought lots of rain, Memorial Day is shaping up to be mostly sunny in Minnesota.

Meteorologist Mike Augustyniak says Monday will be mostly sunny with highs in the low 80s. Humidity is expected to be low.

As for rain, those in southwestern Minnesota can expect to see showers in the morning.

The rest of the daylight hours should be dry, with a mix of sun and clouds.

By evening, storm clouds will move in from the Dakotas, bringing a chance of thunderstorms.

Communities in northwestern Minnesota are more likely to see storms than those in the Twin Cities metro, Augustyniak said.

Looking ahead, Tuesday will bring rain that is expected to linger into Wednesday. Thursday looks to be dry but cool, with highs only reaching 70.

Next weekend should be dry, with temperatures bouncing back to average.
