MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Get ready for a hot and humid Sunday, Minnesotans.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Sunday for the central and western parts of the state.

Temperatures are expected to be between 90 and 95 degrees, with heat indices in the 95- and 105-degree range.

The advisory, which will be in effect from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., is due to a warm air mass that will pass across the state.

Residents are urged stay in air-conditioned locations, drink plenty of fluids and stay out of the sun as much as possible.

Even on Saturday -- when temperatures approached the 90s -- the lemonade stand at the Stone Arch Bridge Festival in Minneapolis had customers lining up to cool down.

But not everyone was feeling the heat. At the 40th Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, runners struggled through 26.2 miles.

"[It was] actually not too bad for the first half, but then the sun started to come out and it did definitely get a little more muggy, humid," one runner said. "Definitely a factor in today's race."
