Wis. Republicans Divided On Supporting Trump

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Even as some Wisconsin Republicans are urging delegates to the national convention to get aboard the movement to dump presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump, others in the state GOP continue to urge unity.

The tension is playing out as campaign workers for the Republican National Committee are spreading out across Wisconsin to contact voters. The coordinated campaign is focused on helping all Republicans, including Trump, incumbent Sen. Ron Johnson and those running for Congress and the state Legislature.

Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says the GOP needs to unify to help all candidates and the longer that takes, the more difficult it will be.

But others, including conservative talk radio hosts and strategist Brian Fraley, are calling on delegates to rise up and stop Trump.
