Police Investigating 3 Assaults Near U Of M

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police are looking for suspects after at least three assaults were reported early Sunday morning near the University of Minnesota campus.

Authorities responded at about 2 a.m. to three separate reports of assaults near the University of Minnesota campus, near 17th and University Avenues. According to police reports, a male victim was assaulted when he told a group of about 20 males to leave his front yard.

As they walked away down University Avenue, they allegedly assaulted a second victim. Neither victim needed medical attention.

Police say about five minutes later, a group of about five males assaulted a group of three victims in the same area. One of the victims was hurt and required medical attention.

Authorities do not have a detailed suspect description in any of the incidents. The suspects in the third assault drove off in a black Subaru.
