Apparent Funnel Cloud Spotted In McLeod County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Twitter user in central Minnesota appears to have spotted a funnel cloud Wednesday afternoon as storms quickly rolled over the state.

The user @MagentaNinja posted an image around 1 p.m. showing what looks to be a funnel cloud. The user told the National Weather Service that the image was taken southeast of Winsted in McLeod County, about 60 miles west of the Twin Cities.

The storms that swept over the state Wednesday brought heavy rain, strong winds and hail to several Minnesota communities. More storms are expected Wednesday evening.
