Local Music Tap: 4 Shows To See This Week(end)

From a couple awesome album releases to a benefit concert for Philando Castile, here are the four shows to see for this weekend!

FRIDAY: Rogue Valley album release @ The Fitzgerald Theater – St. Paul

Minneapolis-based "Americana mirage pop" band, Rogue Valley, will be releasing its second album, "Radiate/Dissolve", at the iconic Fitzgerald theater in downtown St. Paul Friday night.

The album is three years in the making and is sure to impress. Doors open at 8 p.m.

FRIDAY: Justice for Philando Castile Fund Benefit Show @ Acadia - Mpls

"An eclectic bill of funkrock, hip hop, rock and heavy folk, united to raise funds for the Justice for Philando Castile Fund started by Philando's family. $5 suggested donation–all proceeds to be donated to the fund."

The bands include Pancake7, X Slave, Katana Da Don and Clint Niosi. It all starts at 9 p.m.

SATURDAY: School For Girls album release @ Bryant Lake Bowl – Mpls

Debut albums are always exciting. Minneapolis-based School For Girls – a pop band with "gigantic harmonies" – will be releasing its first album, "All At Once", to the a Bryant Lake Bowl crowd Saturday night.

The show includes special guest Charlie Van Stee. Tickets are $10 at the door and $8 in advance. Click here for ticket info.

SUNDAY: Wee Willie Walker & We "R" @ Dakota – Mpls

Wee Willie Walker is bringing his new group, We "R", to the Dakota Jazz Club to wrap up the weekend festivities.

The Twin Cities blues and soul singer will be playing a bunch of soul classics, done in his own style.

The show starts a 7 p.m. with a ticket price of $10.
