Crash On Highway 12 Knocks Down Power Lines

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A driver is hospitalized after crashing into a utility pole in the west metro Sunday morning.

A silver pickup truck rolled over and struck a pole at Highway 12 and County Road 101 in Wayzata, knocking down power lines.

Wayzata police said alcohol does not appear to be factor. The driver received non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital.

Xcel Energy was on scene attempting to restore power. Wayzata police said power should be back up around midnight.

County Road 101 is closed between Harmony Circle and the Highway 12 overpass while crews work on the power lines.

The crash is still under investigation.
