Vikings Sign LS McDermott To 4-Year Extension

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension with long snapper Kevin McDermott.

The deal, first reported by the NFL Network, runs through the 2020 season with a maximum value of $4 million. Coach Mike Zimmer confirmed the agreement after practice Monday.

McDermott is entering his second season with the Vikings, after unseating last year veteran Cullen Loeffler, who then was the longest-tenured player on the team. The UCLA product long-snapped for San Francisco in 2013 and Baltimore in 2014 before signing with Minnesota. He has appeared in 39 NFL games, plus four in the playoffs.
