St. Cloud Police Investigating Knife Assault That Injured Woman

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The St. Cloud Police Department is investigating after a woman was injured in a knife assault early Tuesday morning.

According to police, the St. Cloud Hospital made a mandated report at 2:45 a.m. Tuesday that they were caring for someone who said she had received injuries from a knife assault.

Officers then responded and met with the 20-year-old female victim, who is from Shafer, Minnesota.

The woman, who didn't wish to make a police report, initially told police that an unknown man caused her injuries when she was walking alone at Lake George. After the assault, the woman says the suspect ran away and two unknown men driving a white car helped her and brought her to the hospital's emergency room.

The woman suffered cuts to her face and arms, which required medical attention.

Investigators have been unable to identify any witnesses or determine the location where the incident happened, and the female victim did not wish to provide any more information.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Cloud Police Department at 320-251-1200, or Tri-County Crime Stoppers at 320-255-1301,1-800-255-1301, or at www.tricountycrimestoppers.org.
