MPD: Dad, 21, Arrested After His Infant Dies From Assault
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis police are investigating the death of a 4-month-old girl Saturday night.
Police say they reported to a residence on the 1900 block of Franklin Avenue Southeast at about 5 p.m. to assist with a medical situation involving an infant.
The child later died at Hennepin County Medical Center from injuries she suffered in an apparent assault.
A 21-year-old man, who is the child's father, was taken into custody in connection to the death. Police believe he was home alone with the girl before she died.
This was the fourth homicide in Minneapolis this week. Police say this is an active investigation.
