Man Assaulted With Hatchet Near Leech Lake
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man is recovering from his injuries after being assaulted with a hatchet near Leech Lake early Saturday morning.
According to the Cass County Sheriff's office, deputies first received a report of the incident at 12:58 a.m. Officers arrived to the scene near the Oak Point area of Leech Lake in the rural town of Cass Lake to find a man who was assaulted with a hatchet. He was transported to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center for his injuries.
Deputies conducted a search of the area but concluded the suspects had left prior to law enforcement's arrival. The Cass County Sheriff's office is investigating.
