Ragnar's Purple Harley For Sale On Craigslist

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Do you dream of thundering into the tailgate section of U.S. Bank Stadium on a piece of Vikings history?

Now you can.

A listing on Craigslist in Burnsville has a purple Harley emblazoned with the team's logo for sale. The model is a 1978 Shovelhead 1200 and it's being offered for $7,495.

The bike was once used by the team's human mascot, Ragnar. He was a fixture at home games at the Metrodome for more than two decades, but his contract with the team expired last year.

Ragnar and the team parted ways after not being able to come to a contract agreement. The fur-clad, ax-carrying mascot, whose real name is Joe Juranitch, had reportedly asked for a significant raise: $20,000 a game up from $1,500 a game.

It's unlikely that Ragnar will storm into the team's new downtown stadium. Earlier this year, a video showed him taking off his horns and instead donning a cheesehead – the symbol of Green Bay Packer fandom.

A few years ago, the team debuted another mascot, Viktor the Viking. He is a more traditional, cartoon-type figure.
