MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Duke the Dog has done it again.

The 9-year-old Great Pyrenees won re-election as the mayor of Cormorant in a landslide.

He will now be serving his third term as mayor of the northwest Minnesota town.

He is so popular there that no man — or creature — even attempted to challenge him this year.

“I don’t know who would run against him,” said Cormorant resident Karen Nelson, “because he’s done such great things for the community.”

Duke first won the write-in election three years ago.

It’s believed that he plans to run for mayor again next year.

    He’s way more qualified than Bike-Lane Betty……..so there’s that.

I mean, considering the people rural Minnesotans have chosen in the past to represent them, this dog is a step in the right direction.
