Negotiations Continue After No Agreement Reached Between Allina, Nurses

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Another round of negotiations between Allina Health and the Minnesota Nurses Association came up short Tuesday.

They did not reach a contract agreement, making a strike a greater possibility.

The nurses want to keep their current union health care plans, but Allina is asking them to change to the same plan as its other employees.

The nurses already went on strike once and say they're prepared to do it again.

Allina issued a statement Tuesday, saying in part, "Allina Health's first priority is providing high-quality care to our communities. We believe our nurses are equally committed to care, but if they choose to walk off the job, we will take the steps necessary to continue that commitment to care. We hope it doesn't come to that."
