Survey Finds The Average Cost Of Wedding Gifts

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- How much do you spend wedding gifts? A new survey shows it depends on your relationship to the bride and groom.

If it is an immediate family member, those polled by RetailMeNot.com say they will spend more -- on average $195.

For a friend, the budget is about $89.

If it is a coworker getting married, people spend a little less -- an average of $63.

Forty-one percent of invited guests give a gift whether they go to the wedding or not.
