Man, 73, Thrown From Horse-Drawn Wagon In Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 73-year-old man was injured in a horse and buggy crash in central Minnesota Saturday.

Just after 2:30 p.m., the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office responded to call on the 3000 block of 240th Avenue Northwest in Colfax, Minnesota.

According to the sheriff’s office, horses were pulling a covered wagon when they got frightened and ran into a ditch.

The driver of the wagon was thrown and injured, according to the sheriff’s office. The 73-year-old was airlifted from the scene and taken to St. Cloud Hospital with unknown injuries.

Other passengers on the wagon were not injured, the sheriff’s office said.

    Were they wearing seat-belts, was alcohol detected, distracted driving, too much horsepower, was speed a factor? So many unanswered questions!
