FRIDAY: Charanga Tropical's CD Release Show @ Dakota Jazz

Last summer, Minneapolis-based Charanga Tropical became the first North American ensemble to ever be invited to the International Danzón Festival in Havana, Cuba.

There, in addition to playing the festival and venues around Havana, the group negotiated a five-day recording session with EGREM, Cuba's national record label. Pretty sweet, right?

Now, the charanga group is set to celebrate the release of that CD, "In Cuba", at the Dakota Jazz Club Friday night!

There's a $15 cover and all ages are welcome. Doors open at 7 p.m.
