MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A bit of “Caddyshack” is coming to Hazeltine National Golf Club next week, as the actor Bill Murray is one of the stars who’ll be playing in the Ryder Cup’s Celebrity Match.
Competing with Murray, who has played in past Ryder Cup celebrity matches, will be pro surfer Kelly Slater, Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps, One Direction member Niall Horan, and celebrity chef Todd English.
In total, 16 celebrities will be playing in the 9-hole scramble show match in Chaska on Tuesday. There’ll be eight players representing the United States and eight players representing Europe. A full list can be found here.
Ryder Cup officials say the Celebrity Match will be held at Hazeltine from 2 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., kicking off the prestigious golf tournament’s official festivities.
