Sheriff: 5 Injured In Pope County Airboat Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Pope County Sheriff’s Office says five people have been hospitalized after an airboat crash Wednesday.

At 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff’s office was alerted to a watercraft accident in White Bear Lake Township, southwest of Starbuck, Minnesota.

There, authorities found five victims, who were then transported to the Glacial Ridge Hospital. They have been identified as Jason Meulebroeck, Nicolas Gugisberg, Jesse Koob, Isaac Schiffler and Travis McCrory.

All the victims are from Glenwood. Koob is 37 years old while the rest are 38 years old.

The victims’ conditions are unknown at this time.
