ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A former contract therapist for a St. Paul juvenile corrections facility has been sentenced to 90 days in jail and 15 years of probation for having sex with a 17-year-old boy under her care.

Thirty-year-old Karen A. Meyer could go to prison for three years if she violates any terms of her probation, including no unapproved contact with males under 18 and no contact with the victim.

Assistant Ramsey County Attorney Sarah Cory told the court Friday the victim was incapable of understanding the gravity of the situation given his age and life circumstances.

Meyer pleaded guilty in July to third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Other charges were dropped. She was charged in February with helping the boy escape from Boys Totem Town, then having sex with him at her home.

We need to see a picture of her before we can make any comments.

Thirty days sounds about right for a correctional officer found guilty of planning and participating in an escape, harboring a fugitive in her home for weeks.

      Google “Karen Anne Meyer mugshot”

Mayor Betsy says these black gang members shooting up the streets are way too young to know right from wrong. She has pledged every resource available in the city of Minneapolis to attract more of them and give them whatever money it takes for them to turn their lives around.

Did the lad have a Back Mamba ?
I mean if a typical 17 year old I dunno … I sense they willing and available everywhere so why pop one free? Of course a picture may explain that I guess….could be she was from the State Fair swine barn I ‘pose

If the perpetrator was a man and the victim a 17yo girl, there is no way he would have gotten off with 90 day sentence! Not to mention there would be a mug-shot and vile comments against him. and he would be a life long sex offender.

Sexism is well and alive. But it is not an issue as long as it works in their favor.
