Driver Shares Video Of Himself In Rainy Rollover Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man heading to Wisconsin says he unwittingly filmed himself in a terrifying situation.

A YouTube video posted by Travis Carpenter on Thursday shows him driving and singing while on Interstate 65 in Indiana. He had set up a camera on the dashboard to film himself while en route to a practice weekend in Whitewater, Wisconsin.

"I had the camera on because I film myself singing and practice different voices on long car rides to machine practice when I'm driving alone," he said in a Facebook post.

He was singing to a song by contemporary Christian band Casting Crows when, as the video shows, he was involved in a rollover crash.

He said that he was driving during a heavy rain storm and hydroplaned before sliding off the road entirely.

Carpenter said that the car sustained only body damage, and that he was somehow not injured. In the comments to his Facebook post, he took note of the things people were saying about the video on YouTube: "You guys should check out the YouTube comments. One dude said he wished I died! People are crazy."
