Nearly 40 Citations Issued Following Hibbing Party

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Deputies in St. Louis County had a busy morning Sunday after breaking up a party in Hibbing.

According to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, just before 1 a.m. deputies received a report of an underage drinking party near Highway 5 and Highway 84.

Upon arrival, deputies learned the party site was located on property owned by Hibbing Taconite and could only be access through private property.

Nearly 40 citations were issued for varying offenses, including driving while intoxicated, underage drinking and driving, illegal consumption and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the investigation, deputies also received a call of three juveniles who had become lost after wandering off from the party on foot.

The three were recovered shortly after 8 a.m. and taken to UMCM-Fairview in Hibbing.
