Sheriff: Hunters Miss Deer, Hit Another Hunter In Becker Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials in northern Minnesota say a deer hunter was shot in the leg Saturday by another hunting party.

The Becker County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened shortly after noon in Cormorant Township, just north of the county line.

David Shaw, 45, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. He was struck by a bullet fired from another deer hunting party, which was on the same patch of public land.

A helicopter carried Shaw to a hospital in Fargo for treatment.

The sheriff says the incident remains under investigation.
