4 Things To Know: Trump Visits White House, Protests, Leonard Cohen's Death & More

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – From President-elect Donald Trump's meeting with President Barack Obama at the White House to the death of Canadian singer Leonard Cohen, here is a look at the top four stories from Nov. 11, 2016.

Trump & Obama Meet

President-elect Donald Trump's transition to the White House is officially underway.

On Thursday, Trump traveled to Washington D.C. where he had a 90-minute discussion with President Obama in the Oval Office. The focus was on domestic and foreign policy.

Trump also met with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan, pledging to "hit the ground running" come January.

Protests Over Trump's Election Continue

Protests continue in cities across the country following Trump's stunning election, including Minneapolis.

For a second night, demonstrators took to the streets disrupting traffic and chanting "Not My President." Police declared a riot in Portland, Ore. where vandals started fires and smashed windows.

Trump issued his first tweet as President-elect last night blaming the media for inciting the demonstrations.

Leonard Cohen Dies At 82

The world is mourning the death of music legend, Leonard Cohen.

The Canadian singer-songwriter, who was best known for hits like "Hallelujah" and "Suzanne," also gained attention for his poetry and books.

Cohen was 82.

Walker Art Center Unveils First Installment In Renovations

The Walker Art Center will unveil the first phase of its long-awaited renovations.

On Friday, you can check out the outdoor plaza on Vineland, the main entrance and lobby. A formal open house will be held Dec. 1 - 4, with free gallery admission.

The sculpture garden renovation should be done in June.
