Cops To Drunk Drivers: We'll Make You Listen To One Direction

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A small Minnesota police department's tweet went viral this week after it threatened to subject drunk drivers to the music of One Direction.

Just before the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, police in Wyoming, a city 30 miles north of the Twin Cities, tweeted the warning, which went on to garner, as of Saturday afternoon, more than 5,000 retweets and 9,000 likes.

In the tweet, police warned that drunk drivers will be caught, arrested and made to listen to "One Direction cover bands on the way to jail." There was no mention of the Eighth Amendment, which protects citizens from "cruel and unusual punishment."

The response to the tweet was immense.
