Northern Minnesota Drive-In Badly Damaged In Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A drive-in restaurant in far northern Minnesota was badly damaged in a fire early Sunday morning, authorities say.

Firefighters from four Iron Range departments were called just before 7 a.m. to Wee Zee's K & B Drive-In, a popular area restaurant, on Highway 53 in Fayal Township on a report of a fire. When crews arrived, flames and smoke were showing from the roof.

Crews from Fayal, Eveleth, Gilbert and Central Lakes were all on scene battling the blaze.

Authorities say nobody was hurt in the fire, which was under control by about 9 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
