Kirk Douglas Turns 100
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Kirk Douglas, Oscar-winning star of "Paths of Glory," "Lust for Life," "Ace in the Hole" and "Spartacus," turned 100 Friday.
Douglas got his start in movies with the 1946 film "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers," which was soon followed by the film noir classic "Out of the Past."
He was nominated for the best actor Academy Award three times, though he never won one until he was given the honorary Oscar in 1996.
Douglas had four sons, including Oscar-winning actor and producer Michael Douglas.
He suffered a stroke in the mid-1990s.
