Watch Out, Wisconsin -- Snow, Bitter Cold Headed Your Way

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Parts of southern Wisconsin could get nearly a foot of snow as a winter storm makes its way east from the central Plains.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the region into Saturday evening. The snow promises to slow Friday afternoon commutes and cause hazardous travel conditions into the weekend.

Some schools are closing early and postponing extracurricular activities.

Cold arctic air is expected to linger into Monday morning, with wind chills plummeting to as low as minus 30 degrees. That can cause frostbite to exposed skin in as little as 15 minutes.
