MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials say DWI arrests were slightly down on St. Patrick’s Day this year compared to last year.

State Patrol said from 6 p.m. Friday to 8:45 a.m. Saturday, 175 drivers were arrested for DWI. In 2016, when the holiday fell on a Thursday, 189 arrests were made.

In 2012 St. Patrick’s Day was on a Saturday and there were 346 arrests.

St. Patrick’s Day is second only to Labor Day in terms of DWI arrests per hour, with 4.6.
