MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — There was a big scene on Interstate 35W in Minneapolis overnight.
According to authorities, the crash occurred at 3:18 a.m. on the interstate near 46th Street.
A large number of first responders arrived at the scene, closing down a couple of lanes of traffic to help the people involved and investigate.
Authorities later confirmed the wrong way driver struck the vehicle of a husband and wife, who suffered serious, but non-life threatening, injuries.
The wrong way driver, who hasn’t been identified, is suspected of being impaired and may face DWI and criminal vehicular operation charges.
