Vikings Announce Preseason Lineup

The Minnesota Vikings won’t have to wait long to break in TCF Bank Stadium. The Vikings open the preseason at home against Oakland this season. Of course, home now means the University of Minnesota’s outdoor stadium after the Metrodome was dismantled over the winter. The Vikings will play the next two seasons at TCF while they wait for their new stadium to be constructed.

Adrian Peterson: College Athletes Should Be Paid

Former NFL MVP Adrian Peterson advocated for college athletes on Wednesday, saying they deserved to be paid for the millions of dollars they bring to school coffers and took aim at NBA commissioner Adam Silver’s stated desire to require college players to spend two years in school before declaring for the draft.

Minn. Vikings Sign WR Lestar Jean

The Minnesota Vikings have added a tall wide receiver to their roster, announcing the signing of Lestar Jean. Twenty-six-year-old Jean, who stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs 202 pounds, made only one start in 27 games with the Houston Texans. He caught 10 passes for 186 yards and one touchdown.

Job Fair Held For Vikings Stadium Workers

Politicians said the new Vikings stadium would create jobs, and Thursday we have some proof. A job fair was held at the Sabathani Community Center in north Minneapolis to connect the construction firms involved in the stadium with skilled workers. The firms aim to recruit women, minorities and veterans to work on the project, due in part to a provision of the stadium legislation which sets aside a percentage of jobs for these groups.

The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday they’ve officially submitted their bid to host Super Bowl LII in 2018. The Minnesota Super Bowl Bid Committee put together the preliminary pitch and sent it to the NFL. The process took about two months to put together.

Wootton Agrees To Terms With Vikings

Free agent defensive end Corey Wootton has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Vikings. Wootton and his agent, Mike McCartney, tweeted the agreement on Thursday night. Wootton spent the first four seasons of his career with the division rival Chicago Bears. Wootton has played all 16 games each of the last two seasons when he combined for 10 sacks. He had three sacks last season.
