The Minnesota Vikings defeated the New York Jets 30-24 on an 87-yard touchdown catch by Jarius Wright in overtime Sunday at TCF Bank Stadium. The Vikings scored a touchdown on the first and last play of the game. The Vikings offense was slightly better than average, while the defense was slightly below average. Teddy Bridgewater saved the Vikings in the game and may be the franchise quarterback they have sought now for some time.

Minnesota Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr is out for the game against the New York Jets. Barr missed practice all week with a knee injury and was listed as doubtful. The rookie leads the Vikings in tackles, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries. This is his first absence this season. He’s replaced in the lineup by Gerald Hodges.

innesota Vikings defensive end Brian Robison got his hair cut, for a good cause. Robison showed off his newly-shorn look before practice Wednesday, two days after getting a chop for charity. He donated his hair to Locks of Love, a nonprofit organization that provides wigs to children with long-term hair loss from any type of medical diagnosis.

The Minnesota Vikings announced Wednesday that Adam Thielen has been named the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week. Thielen blocked a punt, recovered the ball and ran it in for a touchdown in the first quarter of Sunday’s 31-13 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Patterson Slipping On The Vikings’ Depth Chart

Cordarrelle Patterson had limited playing time in Sunday’s winning over the Carolina Panthers. The second-year receiver failed to catch the one ball thrown his way and his he was on the field for just three plays on offense. Charles Johnson, who was claimed just before the season started from the Cleveland Browns, had the most playing time of any receiver on Sunday. On the other side of the ball, Xavier Rhodes is becoming one of the league’s best cornerbacks.

Peterson Appeal Trial To Resume Thursday

Minnesota Vikings running back has met with a hearing officer in an appeal over his suspension from the NFL and is now awaiting a ruling. The hearing took place Tuesday morning with Harold Henderson, the NFL’s former vice president of labor relations. He has reportedly heard over 90 appeals in the last six years dealing with personal conduct and drug issues.

Adam Thielen and Everson Griffen returned a pair of blocked punts for touchdowns in the first half. Teddy Bridgewater threw a pair of touchdown passes to help the blowout. The defense struggled to stop the run, but made plays in the second half when they needed to.

It took the Vikings a while to get Cordarrelle Patterson involved in the game plan last year, but once they did, he turned into a Pro Bowler, getting more and more important as the season progressed. This season, the opposite has happened and Sunday against Carolina, he barely played at all.
