"I am where I am because of the support that I received from my community, and that empowered me not to hide behind a curtain, but instead show the world my scars and be proud of them," Martinez said.
We Day Leaves Students Excited, Motivatedn the last year, Minnesota kids participating in We Day projects have spent 14.6 million hours volunteering, and collected 5.6 million pounds of food. This was no ordinary school day. And these are no ordinary students.

Xcel Energy Center Gears Up To Host We Day MinnesotaAbout 18,000 students are expected to fill Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul Wednesday to see some big name celebrities and celebrate local and global charities as part of We Day Minnesota. It's the second annual event, and among the expected celebrities are Martin Sheen and Earvin "Magic" Johnson.
