There are a few things that every girl growing up in the 90s loved. Gel pens, Lisa Frank and Tamagotchis, to name a few. But there was nothing they loved more than boy bands. Well, at least there was nothing I loved more. So, when I was asked if I wanted to sit down with Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees, I of course said ‘I Do!’
In the days when boy bands ruled the airwaves, throngs of screaming girls certainly had their options. Among them, a group of four “beefy” guys, focused on smooth harmonies and catchy pop hits quickly climbed the charts with their abilities to crank the heat.
It’ll be another seven days of waiting for fans of New Kids On The block, 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men. The “Package Tour” has been rescheduled from its previous Saturday, July 13 date to Saturday, July 20.
Hear that Minneapolis? That was the sound of 20- and 30-somethings screaming for the boy band memories of their youth.
You could say it started with the Beatles, but with the new found success of One Direction and the return of the Backstreet Boys, it seems boy bands will always be a thing of the present.
