For the sizable African population in the Twin Cities, Ebola fears are never far out of mind. Abdi Bihi, with the Brian Coyle Center, said they have formed a partnership with the Liberian community and are working with them to bring awareness to how the Ebola virus is spread.

SEAL Raid Targets Senior Al-Shabab Leader

An early morning raid by Navy SEALs targeted one of the senior leaders of al-Shabab. The strike comes two weeks after al-Shabab militants attacked a mall in Kenya. The Defense Department not yet said if the leader was captured alive. The FBI says more than two dozen young Somali-Americans from the Twin Cities have been lured to terror training camps overseas. Abdi Bihi of the Somali Education and Social Advocacy Center says Saturday’s raid is a good thing for families living in the state.

Doubts Remain Among MN’s Somali Community

It’s been two days since reports surfaced that al-Shabaab released the names of the Nairobi mall attackers on Twitter. Two of the names listed were from Minnesota, but questions still remain.
