Take A Rare Look Inside A Red Kettle

The Salvation Army raises around $3 million every year in the Twin Cities through their red kettle campaign. The campaign started in San Francisco in 1891. Salvation Army Captain Joseph McFee came up with the idea to collect money to feed the poor during the holiday season. He used a single iron kettle for donations.

‘St. Grand’ Makes 1st $1K Gift To Red Kettles This Season

Just as the charity was announcing a downturn in donations, the mysterious “St. Grand” is once again leaving generous donations in the Salvation Army’s red kettles. A donation of $1,000 — in the form of a bundle of 10 $100 bills — showed up in a red kettle in Roseville on Black Friday.
