One person was injured after a semi-truck rolled over in Beltrami County Thursday evening. According to the accident report, around 8 p.m. a semi-truck carrying logs was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 2 just west of Bemidji when it swerved to avoid a vehicle that pulled out in front of it.
A 25-year-old man faces murder charges in connection to the stabbing death of a 35-year-old Redby woman, who was found in a pool of blood in a Bemidji street Friday night. The Beltrami County Attorney’s office says Brian Keith Jourdain, of Bemidji, was charged Tuesday with two counts of second-degree murder.

Two men were arrested early Friday morning in Cass County after they allegedly kidnapped and stabbed another man they knew from Facebook. The Minnesota Department of Health says two more cases of E. coli infection have been confirmed in the state. The department said Thursday it has been able to interview 14 of the 15 cases. Three elderly people have died in two separate traffic crashes in Minnesota. The Minnesota State Patrol says an 89-year-old man and 87-year-old woman died in a head-on crash on Highway 71 near Bemidji Tuesday afternoon. The patrol says the couple’s southbound car was struck by a northbound vehicle. No information was available on the driver of the northbound vehicle.
Bemidji saw black and blue on Friday morning, but the wild incident ended with a peaceful nap. Police were called to the Paul Bunyan Park near the area of 12th Street Northeast and Lake Blvd. at about 6 a.m. A number of people reported seeing a black bear in the area.

A Cass County teen has been charged with felony wildlife arson after intentionally setting a blaze Wednesday that damaged over 70 acres and endangered several homes. Anthony James Wittner, 17, told investigators he started a forest fire because mosquitoes were bothering him, according to the Cass County Attorney’s Office.
