A Minnesota family is suing a restaurant for what they consider a fatal mistake. Scott Johnson died last summer after eating pancakes at a Bemidji restaurant. He suffered from a severe dairy allergy since birth. The Johnson’s said they were told the restaurant’s gluten-free pancakes were also dairy-free.

Milk Allergy Death Of 16-Year-Old Leads To Lawsuit

A Minnesota family wants restaurants to make changes after an allergic reaction took the life of their son.

Scott Johnson, 16, had a severe milk allergy since birth. He died last summer after eating restaurant pancakes that his family thought were dairy-free.

1 Injured After Semi Rollover In Beltrami Co.

One person was injured after a semi-truck rolled over in Beltrami County Thursday evening. According to the accident report, around 8 p.m. a semi-truck carrying logs was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 2 just west of Bemidji when it swerved to avoid a vehicle that pulled out in front of it.

Police Hear Murder Suspect Confess To Mom On Speaker Phone

A 25-year-old man faces murder charges in connection to the stabbing death of a 35-year-old Redby woman, who was found in a pool of blood in a Bemidji street Friday night. The Beltrami County Attorney’s office says Brian Keith Jourdain, of Bemidji, was charged Tuesday with two counts of second-degree murder.

Woman Dies After Being Found Stabbed On Bemidji Street

A 35-year-old Redby woman has died after being found in the middle of a Bemidji street Friday night with several stab wounds. Bemidji Police say they responded to a call about a person lying in the street at about 7:12 p.m. on the 2800 block of Ridgeway Avenue.

Bemidji Police Investigate Bloomington Student’s Death

A 20-year-old Bloomington woman has died after being found unconscious in Bemidji Wednesday morning. Police say Sandra Lommen was found lying in a wooded area near 10th Street Northwest and Rice Avenue at about 8:30 a.m. Emergency crews say she showed signs of hypothermia and intoxication.

A Bemidji, Minn. woman was found dead early Saturday morning, according to Bemidji police. According to the Bemidji Police Department, shortly after 6 a.m. officers responded to a call of a “possibly” deceased person in the 500 block of Paul Bunyan Drive S.

Police: Woman Found Dead In Bemidji

Bemidji police are investigating the death of a woman who they say was found dead early Saturday morning. On Oct. 4 at 6:08 a.m., Bemidji police, along with an ambulance, responded to the report of a possibly deceased person on the 500 block of Paul Bunyan Drive South. When they arrived, the woman was found dead.

A Bemidji woman who allegedly allowed her 6-year-old cousin to freeze to death has been found incompetent to stand trial. Twenty-two-year-old Rachel Stacey Downer was charged with manslaughter in the death of Mercedes Mayfield.

Men Allegedly Kidnap, Stab Man They Knew From Facebook

Two men were arrested early Friday morning in Cass County after they allegedly kidnapped and stabbed another man they knew from Facebook. Twenty-two-year-old Sheldon James Armstrong, III, of Cass Lake, Minn., and 18-year-old Travis Richard Paquette, of Bemidji, Minn., both face one count each of first degree attempted murder, kidnapping, second degree assault with a dangerous weapon and theft of a motor vehicle.

2 More E. Coli Cases Confirmed In Minnesota

The Minnesota Department of Health says two more cases of E. coli infection have been confirmed in the state. The department said Thursday it has been able to interview 14 of the 15 cases. Through the interviews, investigators confirmed that 12 of the ill people ate at an Applebee’s restaurant in Minnesota between June 23 and June 29.

Law Enforcement Action ‘Resolved’ In Red Lake

Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office and Headwaters SWAT team responded to a call of shots being fired at the Red Lake Indian Reservation in northwestern Minnesota. According to Beltrami County Sherriff’s Office, officers responded to a call for mutual aid assistance from the Red Lake Police department at 6:30 a.m. Friday.

3 Elderly People Die In 2 Crashes

Three elderly people have died in two separate traffic crashes in Minnesota. The Minnesota State Patrol says an 89-year-old man and 87-year-old woman died in a head-on crash on Highway 71 near Bemidji Tuesday afternoon. The patrol says the couple’s southbound car was struck by a northbound vehicle. No information was available on the driver of the northbound vehicle.

Black Bear Spotted Near Paul Bunyan, Babe Statues

Bemidji saw black and blue on Friday morning, but the wild incident ended with a peaceful nap. Police were called to the Paul Bunyan Park near the area of 12th Street Northeast and Lake Blvd. at about 6 a.m. A number of people reported seeing a black bear in the area.
