Big Ten Player Of The Week
University of Minnesota senior forward Shae Kelley was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll on Tuesday. Kelley scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Gophers to a win at North Dakota last week.
For the second straight week, a University of Minnesota men’s basketball player received recognition from the Big Ten Conference. Senior center Mo Walker was named the league’s Player of the Week on Monday.
Senior forward Shae Kelley of the University of Minnesota women’s basketball team was named the Big Ten Player of the Week on Monday after helping lead the Gophers to a pair of victories. Kelley averaged a double-double of 20.5 points and 11 rebounds per game as the Gophers beat Cleveland State and Memphis last week.
Minnesota junior guard Rachel Banham has been named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll. Banham averaged 30 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals in games against Iowa and Northwestern last week.
Minnesota senior Austin Hollins has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week for men’s basketball. The award was announced by the conference on Monday. Hollins crossed the 1,000-point mark for his career last week in leading the Gophers to a 75-59 victory over South Dakota State. He posted his third double-double, with 20 points and 14 rebounds in 30 minutes. The small forward is averaging 13.8 points and 7.4 rebounds over 11 games. He’s seventh in the Big Ten in rebounds.
University of Minnesota women’s basketball player Micaella Riche was named the Big Ten Player of the Week on Monday after she helped lead the Gophers to a pair of wins last week in the Best Buy Classic.
