Adrian Peterson Falls Nine Yards Short Of Record As Vikings Beat Packers

Adrian Peterson needed 208 yards to break Eric Dickerson’s single season rushing record, but fell nine yards short of the mark. The Minnesota Vikings offense matched the Green Bay Packers drive for drive before winning on a field goal as time expired. The game included drama, controversy and physicality.

Jerome Felton Paves The Way For The Minnesota Vikings

One of the seemingly unnoticed offseason acquisitions for the Minnesota Vikings was fullback Jerome Felton. The fifth-year veteran played for two teams last season after spending his first three seasons with NFC Division rival Detroit Lions. When looking for his next team last March, he was looking for a good fit and found it in the Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings held on for a 21-14 victory over the Chicago Bears Sunday at Mall of America Field. The offense was once again all about Adrian Peterson. He rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns.

Minnesota Vikings Overmatched In Chicago

The Minnesota Vikings had an extra week to prepare for the Chicago Bears, but still provided little resistance. The Vikings scored first, but surrendered 25 consecutive points before falling 28-10 at Soldier Field. Adrian Peterson topped 100 yards for the fifth straight game.

The Minnesota Vikings enter a grueling stretch of inter-divisional games with a 34-24 victory over the Detroit Lions Sunday at Mall of America Field. Even without Percy Harvin, the Vikings were able to get its passing offense back on track and Adrian Peterson torched the Lions defense. The Vikings defense forced two turnovers while the offense took good care of the ball.
