Charges: 2 Hockey Players Used Minor In Sex Video

Two members of the USHL’s Lincoln Stars are accused of using a 15-year-old girl to make a sex video in a Minnesota motel room. Thomas Carey and Brandon Smith, both 19, were each charged Tuesday in Clay County with using a minor in a sexual performance, possession of child pornography and distributing pornography, all felonies.

Man Accused Of Attacking Ex-Girlfriend In Her Home

Bail has been set for a man accused of breaking into a home in western Minnesota and trying to kidnap his ex-girlfriend. Fifty-two-year-old William Dean faces charges of attempted kidnapping and assault with a dangerous weapon. Prosecutors say Dean broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home in Comstock last week, physically assaulted her and shocked her with a stun gun.

Trucker Stopped In Minn. Accused Of Kidnapping

A truck driver from Utah is accused of holding a 19-year-old relative against her will while the two traveled across country. The 53-year-old man from Salt Lake City was arrested last week at a truck scale outside of Moorhead, Minn. A Minnesota state trooper discovered a Florida warrant for the man’s arrest. The man was charged in Clay County court with kidnapping, false imprisonment and domestic abuse.

Charges: Minn. Woman Operated Day Care While Drunk

A Moorhead woman is accused of being drunk while caring for children at a day care she operates in her home. Fifty-four-year-old Jayne Cote is charged with four gross misdemeanor counts of neglect or endangerment of a child. Clay County Attorney Brian Melton says when police performed a welfare check at the day care on Oct. 2, Cote’s blood-alcohol level was 0.18 percent. That’s more than twice Minnesota’s legal limit for driving of 0.08 percent.

Moorhead Siblings Removed From Parents After Baby Dies In Hot Van

A judge has ruled that five siblings of a baby girl who died after she was accidentally left in a hot van in Moorhead will temporarily remain in the custody of social services. According to Clay County Attorney Brian Melton, five-month-old Christiana Sandstrom died after being left in van by her parents – Andrew and Shayna Sandstrom.
