For the first time, U.S. News & World Report says the Mayo Clinic in Rochester is the best hospital in the country. According to the magazine, the Mayo is ranked nationally in 15 adult and nine pediatric specialties.
Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore has regained its place atop U.S. News & World Report’s annual rankings of the nation’s best hospitals. The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., was ranked third.
The federal government now says 111 Minnesota clinics received drugs from a Massachusetts pharmacy at the center of a fungal meningitis outbreak. That’s 18 fewer clinics than state officials reported last week after receiving a different provider list, and they don’t know why the number changed.
Gov. Mark Dayton has vetoed a bill to require clinics that perform abortions to pay license fees and undergo special inspections. Dayton vetoed the bill Thursday.
