Could Farm Bill Lead To Higher Grocery Prices?

The gridlock in Washington D.C. may soon be felt at a grocery store near you. While lawmakers are expected to vote on a budget deal on Thursday, it’s a different bill that could really impact your wallet. If Congress doesn’t pass a new farm bill by the end of the year milk prices could double.

Corn Crop Hindered By Wet Weather

Ed McNamara has been farming in Goodhue County for 36 years. As the old saying goes, he’s used to seeing corn knee-high by the Fourth of July. This year, he may not see it at all. “We’ve had wet periods but we’ve always been able to get a crop in. This is the first time that we’ve ever not been able to get the whole crop in,” McNamara said.
