GOP Endorses Rival Of Minn. Gay-Marriage Backer

Wright County Republicans have endorsed Eric Lucero for the state House, bypassing David FitzSimmons after he voted to legalize gay marriage. Lucero won the endorsement Saturday for District 30B, which covers parts of Wright and Sherburne counties. Minnesota Family Council supported Lucero, claiming FitzSimmons “betrayed” his constituents. Council CEO John Helmberger says Lucero will promote the values of life and religious freedom.

MDH: Pumpkin Patch Petting Zoo Infects 3 Children With E. Coli

Three people have confirmed E. coli infections from a Minnesota pumpkin patch petting zoo, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. The three cases are all children – from 15 months old to 7 years old – and one child is hospitalized with hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a serious complication of an E. coli infection characterized by kidney failure.
