A Reading woman was sentenced Friday to 90 days in jail after 15 horses were found dead on her property in March of 2014. The Nobles County Attorney’s office says Joan Mary Moore, 56, pleaded guilty to five counts of animal neglect.

A 28-year-old Park Rapids woman is accused of tying up and abandoning two horses that died of apparent starvation near Dorset, Minn. On Monday, Minden Crenshaw appeared in Hubbard County District Court on felony charges of animal neglect.
Investigators found 15 dead horses on a Nobles County farm Tuesday afternoon. According to the Nobles County Sheriff’s office, the animals were found at a farm in Reading, which is near Worthington. Nine horses on the farm are still alive and in good condition.
