Wild Claim Nate Prosser Off Waivers From St. Louis

The Minnesota Wild have claimed defenseman Nate Prosser off waivers from St. Louis. The Wild announced the move Thursday. Prosser became a free agent last summer and signed with St. Louis, only to be waived by the Blues this week.

Wild Sign Defenseman Justin Falk

The Minnesota Wild have signed defenseman Justin Falk to a one-year, two-way contract. Under the deal announced Friday, Falk will be paid his NHL salary only if he is on the NHL roster. If he is sent to the AHL, he will get a minor-league salary.

Wild Waive Defenseman Tom Gilbert

The Minnesota Wild have waived defenseman Tom Gilbert. The team announced the move Wednesday. The 30-year-old Gilbert had one season left on his contract for $3 million. If he goes unclaimed by another team, the Wild will use one of their two available compliance buyouts to keep Gilbert’s money from counting against their salary cap. He would then become an unrestricted free agent Friday, eligible to sign with any team except the Wild.
