Wild Slip Past Red Wings 4-3 In OT

Matt Moulson’s goal at 2:15 of overtime gave the Minnesota Wild a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday night. Charlie Coyle had a goal and an assist and Jason Pominville and Zach Parise also scored for Minnesota. Ryan Suter had two assists and Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 13 shots.

Nyquist’s Goal Gives Red Wings 3-2 Win Over Wild

Depleted by injuries, and maybe just due for a drop-off, the Detroit Red Wings have found their remarkable 22-season streak of reaching the playoffs in jeopardy. Well, with 12 games to go, they are still in line for a spot. Gustav Nyquist’s third-period goal gave the Red Wings a 3-2 victory Saturday over the Minnesota Wild, their fourth win in five games.

October 5, 1993 was the first time the franchise formerly known as the Minnesota North Stars would play a home game somewhere other than Bloomington, Minn. That night, the Stars beat the Detroit Red Wings 6-4 in Reunion Arena in Dallas, Texas – officially, and for the foreseeable future, to be known as the “Dallas Stars.” Though Minnesota hockey fans would count on the promise of a future franchise from the NHL, they had to wait seven long years to get it.
