An 18 year old is in the Carlton County Jail after being arrested for writing a bomb threat that led to the evacuation of Esko School on Tuesday. According to the Carlton County Sheriff’s office, Eddie Michael Edwards is suspected of leaving a written threat that was found around noon on Tuesday in the K-12 school. The building was evacuated, and everyone moved to a nearby church while bomb detection dogs were dispatched. The FBI was also involved in the situation.

A 76-year-old man from Esko is dead after falling off a tractor Wednesday night, according to the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities were called to a residence on Hillside Road in Esko at about 7:46 p.m. Wednesday on a report that a man had fallen off a tractor and needed medical assistance.
A 69-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly striking a bicyclist and fleeing the scene. The hit-and-run incident happened on Sunday evening at the intersection of Highway 61 and Rolling Road in Thomson Township.
