Two people are dead and a three-year-old child is seriously injured after a head-on crash Tuesday morning in Carlton County. The Minnesota State Patrol says a Chevy Impala crossed the centerline of Highway 45 near Interstate 35, striking an Oldsmobile 88 head-on at about 8:24 a.m.

An 18 year old is in the Carlton County Jail after being arrested for writing a bomb threat that led to the evacuation of Esko School on Tuesday. According to the Carlton County Sheriff’s office, Eddie Michael Edwards is suspected of leaving a written threat that was found around noon on Tuesday in the K-12 school. The building was evacuated, and everyone moved to a nearby church while bomb detection dogs were dispatched. The FBI was also involved in the situation.

Authorities were called to a residence on Hillside Road in Esko at about 7:46 p.m. Wednesday on a report that a man had fallen off a tractor and needed medical assistance.
