The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking for two men who robbed a Little Canada bank Thursday morning while wearing Halloween masks. The robbery happened at 7 a.m. at the U.S. Bank at 2850 Rice Street. The FBI says two men entered the bank as it was opening and forced two employees to unlock the vault. “Don’t be a hero, it’s not your money,” said one of the suspects to employees.
A 26-year-old woman was sentenced Wednesday to more than six years in prison for stabbing a man to death with a grill fork and kitchen knives last Fourth of July, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Alison Ann Brown, a member of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians, was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for one count of voluntary manslaughter in the death of Byron Lussier Sr.
Newly unsealed documents allege Minnesota war protesters told an undercover FBI agent that they believed in violent, armed revolution against the U.S. and raised money for Colombian and Palestinian organizations the government considers to be terrorists.
The late Sen. Rod Grams is being recognized for his work in bringing the Amber Alert system to Minnesota. The FBI has posthumously awarded Grams with its FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award. In 2002 Grams was instrumental in making Minnesota the seventh state to implement the Amber Alert system.
